I was born in the small town of Black Diamond, Alberta but have been living in Edmonton for the last 15 years. I love to draw and paint and my favorite mediums are charcoal, acrylic paint and alcohol ink. I also make jewelry but mostly, I paint.
In the last decade I studied Art as a minor taking Art and Design classes at the University of Alberta, University of Lima and University of Madrid.
I studied the figure and really enjoyed it however I am currently exploring abstract art and creating large, expressive and colorful pieces that have movement and radiate light and energy.
In 2017 I became a mom and in my busy life I feel a deeper intrinsic urge to create uplifting art that acts as a space for your mind to drift off, take a rest, or go for a spiritual walk. Perhaps my art is a force that invokes feeling or allows one to make meaningful connections within themselves or with the people and world around them. That is how I see and interact with my work at this time, although there is plenty of room for interpretation. That said, if my art simply brightens and energizes the home which it finds itself in, then I believe I have been successful.
I often paint with my 1-year-old daughter running around the room and she loves to make her own mark in each of my paintings. I hope you enjoy the Lesley and Lily originals as much as we love making them!
